Before initial use, a "medome" (sealing) treatment is recommended: soak the plate overnight in rice water or water mixed with flour to prevent stains and odors.
-
Moisten the dish with clean water before serving food to minimize absorption of oils and scents.
-
Wash promptly after use and ensure the pottery is completely dry before storing.
-
Not recommended for use in the microwave, oven, or dishwasher to preserve the integrity and fine craftsmanship.
-
As each piece is individually handcrafted, subtle variations in shape, color, pattern, and glaze appearance will occur as natural characteristics of artisanal pottery.
